After the PEGI rating approval, XDefiant players have been engaged in speculation regarding the game’s release. This has prompted an official response from Executive Producer Mark Rubin.
Despite facing competition from Activision’s Modern Warfare III, XDefiant is generating high anticipation as one of the most anticipated FPS titles slated for release in 2023.
Despite previous claims from the developers about a summer 2023 release, no official release date has been announced for the game as the season comes to an end. Players were hopeful when they learned that the game’s PEGI rating had been approved, interpreting it as a promising sign of an upcoming release.
Contrary to expectations, XDefiant’s Executive Producer, Mark Rubin, addressed player concerns about the game’s release on X in order to clarify any misunderstandings.

Mark Rubin has confirmed that the approval of the game’s PEGI rating does not have any connection to the submission process of the game. The PEGI rating approval simply means that PEGI has given their approval to the assigned rating of the game.
Before launching the game, developers are required to go through the submission process, which is separate from the PEGI rating approval. Mark Rubin stated that this process is currently underway, and the launch date is contingent upon its completion.
Despite this, the developer expresses their hope for another update in the near future, possibly hinting at an upcoming release date. However, with August drawing to a close, it seems increasingly unlikely that the game will be launched in summer 2023.
Once Mark Rubin and the Ubisoft team behind XDefiant make future announcements, we will eagerly await to share any additional details about the game and its release date with you on CharlieIntel.
