Is Dead Island 2 crossplay? PlayStation, Xbox & PC cross-platform status

Does Dead Island 2, the sequel to Deep Silver’s beloved co-op multiplayer zombie game from 2011, offer cross-platform functionality for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC?

After a decade-long wait, the highly anticipated sequel, Dead Island 2, is set to make its long-awaited debut on April 21, 2023. Fans have been eagerly anticipating this release, making it one of the most anticipated games of the year.

The first installment of the game was a tremendous success, captivating players with its distinctive gameplay of killing zombies and its engaging multiplayer mode. It allowed players to experience the complete storyline alongside their friends, which contributed to its immense popularity as a multiplayer game during that period.

Dead Island 2 aspires to recreate the beloved co-op zombie chaos for players, but there are concerns regarding its multiplayer restrictions. People are curious if they can team up with friends on various platforms such as PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Given the aforementioned, let’s discuss the possibility of Dead Island 2 being cross-platform.

Nevertheless, Dead Island 2 allows players to engage in cross-generational gameplay within the same platform. To illustrate, Xbox One and Xbox Series X users have the opportunity to join forces. The only restriction is that individuals using last-gen consoles’ standard version are unable to initiate a party, while current-gen or PS4 Pro and Xbox One X players have the capability to do so.

The developers are currently working on providing the option to host sessions on all consoles in the future, whereas PC players are already able to both host and join sessions.
