Warzone Mobile expected global release date

According to Activision CEO Bobby Kotick’s statement in court on June 28, a Fall 2023 release window for Warzone Mobile was mentioned. However, an official date has not been announced yet. This occurred during a hearing concerning Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of the publisher.

The release date of the game on the Apple App Store has been shifted from May 15 to November 1. However, it remains uncertain whether this date is the intended launch or simply a temporary placeholder, as the developers have yet to make an official announcement.

Although an exact date for the global release of Warzone Mobile remains unknown, the game has already been made accessible in specific regions through a limited release. Players in certain areas, such as Australia, have had the opportunity to test an early version of Warzone Mobile.

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick testified that the launch of Warzone Mobile was originally planned for an earlier date but has been delayed until this autumn. He also revealed that Call of Duty has a massive player base of 100 million monthly active users, with mobile being the most popular platform, followed by PC and consoles. Additionally, Kotick stated that he would only consider certain offers if they came with the right price.

Plumer explains in the video the rationale behind the gradual launch of Warzone Mobile. By releasing it in a controlled manner across different regions, the developers can effectively handle the game before its worldwide expansion to major countries.

According to Plummer, once Warzone Mobile is prepared, a massive release will follow, granting global access to individuals worldwide.

Will Warzone Mobile have shared progression with Warzone 2?

Familiar faces are sure to appear in Warzone Mobile.

Activision has officially announced that Warzone Mobile will incorporate shared progression with Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. With the aim of providing a seamless Call of Duty experience, Activision is introducing cross-progression to enhance the connectivity across these titles.

All three titles will have a considerable number of identical weapons and Operators, making the shared progression concept more streamlined. Moreover, players will have the opportunity to progress through a unified Battle Pass in Warzone Mobile, Modern Warfare 2, and Warzone 2.0.

The Call of Duty team has exemplified this by showcasing how, in Modern Warfare 2, players can unlock a new weapon and have it promptly available on Warzone Mobile.

Finding games with your friends will be made easier due to the improved connectivity among the three games, as your lists and chat channels will be merged, streamlining the process.

Verdansk’s iconic points of interest, such as Downtown, Super Store, and Dam, will be making a comeback as the game transitions to mobile. Players can expect to encounter familiar features like Buy Stations, Gulag, and Contracts throughout the Verdansk map.

Furthermore, it has been confirmed by Activision that Warzone Mobile will include lobbies accommodating 120 players. Considering the mobile platform, players might have anticipated a reduced player count. However, it appears that the developers are committed to providing a genuine Warzone experience.
